Carpark Lighting Upgrade

Waverley Council takes significant steps towards enhancing sustainability and energy efficiency within the community. Waverley counsel identified its Eastgate Carpark located in Bondi junction as a candidate to upgrade as it had inefficient fluorescent lighting. Lowa Lighting Partnered with Waverley council to improve it facility and greatly reduce costs.

Implementation Plan


1. Project Planning and Preparation

  • Conduct a detailed site survey to map out the current lighting setup and identify areas requiring additional lighting.

  • Develop a comprehensive project plan including timelines, resource allocation, and safety protocols.

  • Develop a safety plan in compliance with local regulations and conduct a safety briefing for all personnel involved in the installation.

  1. Nighttime Installation

  • Establish a night shift schedule from 10 PM to 5 AM to avoid peak usage times and minimise disruptions.

  • Implement a phased installation approach, working on one level at a time to ensure parts of the carpark remain operational.


Conclusion


The upgrade of the Eastgate Carpark lighting system from fluorescent to LED is a sound investment that will deliver significant financial, environmental, and operational benefits.
